LETTER FROM FOUNDER | MISSION STATEMENT | PLANS & PROGRAMS

At KStarr Foundation we intend to refocus the way of thinking, feeling and the behavior of women with children who are, living below poverty level, reside in family and battered women shelters. We are here to get to the core of these women through a comprehensive program.

Which starts with an evaluation of the woman’s current situation and state of mind.

We will then develop a plan with each woman with an emphasis on continuing education, job readiness and placement, by no means will KStarr send women out to the job place without first preparing them, and in preparation that means, mentally- group support groups 1 on 1 counseling sessions, physically- health awareness, healthy eating and importance of regular physical exams, and emotionally - support groups, emotional wellness activities and spiritual counsel if requested, in addition to skill development- hands on work experience, at KStarr, computer training, financial awareness, budgeting skills, life skills- budgeting, bill payments and banking.

We will focus on the developmental plans with realistic timelines and goals set by each woman and the program director. Also providing resources ie; schools, colleges, counsellors and programs geared the womanÂ’s goals. We know through personal experience that until a mother is confident with herself as a woman first, she is no good to her child or children, and especially not in the work place.

Our intention at the KStarr Foundation is to become an integral resource for our children starting at the very first day of their lives.
